Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA)

The Government of India ministry that regulates Indian corporate law and company filings.

Definition

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs is the central government ministry responsible for administering the Companies Act 2013, the Limited Liability Partnership Act 2008, and the Competition Act 2002. MCA supervises the Registrar of Companies network, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for insolvency and restructuring matters, and the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. Its public MCA21 portal is the primary interface for statutory filings and the underlying source of the company and director data surfaced on CorpIntel.
